One of the things I like best about crochet is the ability to make baby blankets for my friends who are expecting! I love being able to make something small and cute for such a precious bundle of joy! It really makes me happy to be able to give something handmade to my friends for their new child. Of course, that also doesn’t stop me from imaging what I’ll make when J and I have a baby of our own, but all in due time, right?
With each baby blanket that I make, I try to use a new pattern and colors chosen by Mom to match the nursery or whatever colors she wants. This blanket, I decided to go with a chevron pattern, which was something I’ve never done before. Thankfully, the pattern was super easy and was a quick one to work up! I got the pattern off of Fable of Five, and then little Owl pattern from Love the Blue Bird. Both were very well explained and easy to put together, and the owl pattern I’ve used a few times now. I can’t resist a cute little owl!
One last thing I need to do is back the blanket with some really soft minky fabric that I have. I think that’ll make it much softer against baby’s skin, which is always important. At that point, I’ll just attach the owl, and it’ll be ready to ship! What do you think??
